It's worth a try.
A sane person does not send a text to the Prime Minister of Norway that says he “no longer feel(s) an obligation to think purely of peace” because a Committee did not give that person the Nobel Peace Prize. But then, I think it’s safe to say Trump is not sane.
The statement is crazy on so many levels. The Nobel Committee isn’t a government agency. The most recent prize was awarded for 2024—when Trump wasn’t stopping any wars. And his role in stopping wars, some of which have erupted again, is “highly disputed” (which is how polite people say BS).
Yet this is our president. Preparing to invade Greenland while gathering the troops to invade Minneapolis. He’s Mad King Trump with the emphasis on “Mad.”
It Could Work suggests a way to tie the Orange Orbán’s thirst for a Peace Prize to the world’s hunger for a normal America. Give him his precious prize, but with strings. And the added bonus is, he’d fire Stephen Miller before he does anything that would allow the Committee to revoke the prize. We should be so lucky.
And if you’re curious, “ta én for laget” is Norwegian for “take one for the team.” So if you know anyone ….
